Water& Light Committee Meeting
Regular Monthly Meeting
Wednesday May 30,2007
6:30 P.M. At City Hall 31 S. Madison St.
Minutes

Members Present Tom Cothard Chair, John Sornson and Barb Jacobson

Staff: Scott George Superintendent, John Rasmussen foreman and Dan Wietecha City Admin.

Also present were Jim Haddinger and Roger Berg

Chairperson Cothard called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.
Motion by Sornson 2nd by Jacobson to approve the March 28, 2007 Water & Light Minutes motion carried 3-0

Citizens concern none.

Rodger Berg asked the Water & Light Comm. For additional low-income weatherization assistance on the low-income 16 units that Triple B Investments is doing. After some discussion Motion by Jacobson 2nd by Cothard to approve 65% of the $ 9270.50 for the project. Passed 3-0

Motion by Sornson 2nd by Jacobson to approve Substation Materials Package bid of $ 184,400.00 from Peak Substation Services Passed 3-0

Discussion and follow up on electric substation stray voltage concerns. Scott explained to the comm. about the meeting the W&L had with Forster Eng. (Bruce Beth) and the Wisc. PSC (Mark Cook). At this meeting it was decided to bury a #4 copper wire along the existing 3-phase line on Co.Rd. M tie it to the ground on each pole and tie it to water main being extended on Co.Rd. M and tie it into the ground grid of the new substation. Jim Haddinger asks if the Water & Light would sign an agreement removing the liability cap. If there still is a stray voltage problem. Dan will contact the city Att. Ref. Jims request.

Committee Report from Chair Cothard. None

Committee Report from Superintendent George. Scott told the comm. that we are looking at replacing the water main on S. Madison St. from Church St. to Water St. in the spring.
It was noted by John Rasmussen that the disconnects were done and also the rest of the uptown streetlights have been removed and temp. lights installed.
Motion to adjourn by Sornson 2nd by Jacobson at 6:56 P.M.
